Each year, tens of thousands of Montgomery County residents struggle to access and afford health care. Mobile Medical Care (MobileMed) meets this need through a network of low-cost clinics: three fixed sites and two mobile locations. MobileMed staff, volunteers, and community partners deliver high-quality, culturally sensitive care in the neighborhoods where patients live and work. Beyond primary and preventive care, MobileMed offers specialty care and behavioral health services, and hosts a Heart Clinic in collaboration with Suburban Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine. Patients receive free or low-cost medications, laboratory services, and cancer screenings, plus referrals to exceptional pro bono specialists and access to donated diagnostic testing. Each year, MobileMed treats over 4,300 patients through 17,000 medical and behavioral health visits. In its nearly 60-year history, no patient has been turned away for inability to pay. Simply put, your support helps save lives.

About Spur Local
Every year, 190+ local nonprofits (with budgets under $4M) apply to join the Spur Local network. 170+ community volunteers assess these applications for impact. 100% of organizations are site visited and financially reviewed. Finally, 76+ critical, local nonprofits are selected for inclusion in Spur Local's annual print and digital catalog, and enter a four-year partnership with us. Since 2003, we have raised over $65 million for nonprofits across the Greater Washington region. We charge no fees and raise funds separately to support our work.
Spur Local looks to friends like you to keep our services independent and entirely free of charge. Consider a small contribution to Spur Local to cap off your gift and help the causes you care about get the full support they deserve!
