Most of us can’t imagine navigating the world without our sight — but thousands of people in our region are at risk of vision loss, and many struggle to access the screenings, treatment, and support they need. For more than 80 years, POB has been improving and preserving sight for individuals of all ages in Greater Washington. Each year, it provides vision health services for thousands of children, with the Glasses4Scholars program bringing free eye exams and eyeglasses to those in under-resourced communities. Adults receive personalized vision rehabilitation services, low- to no-cost eyeglasses, and free glaucoma screening at convenient locations across the region. Support groups, a telephone hotline, and resources help patients locate the services they need and cope with the emotional impacts of vision impairment, including depression and isolation. Your generosity improves vision … and quality of life.
