A truly transformative public boarding school that opened its doors in 2015 with 40 fifth graders, Monument Academy now includes grades 5-8. Most students have experienced significant adversity, including involvement or risk of involvement in child welfare and/or other social service systems; many are in foster care or experiencing homelessness. But with the right support, all have unlimited potential. Wrap-around care is key: staff are trained to address children’s social and emotional needs in addition to fostering top-notch academic performance. Small classes, more days in the school year, academic clubs, special education services,"engagement camp weeks" for student enrichment, athletics, counseling, and more are all part of the program. Importantly, students live during the week in single-gender homes (up to 10 students each) right on campus, with Student Life Advisors who help them learn important life skills in a safe, family-like environment. Their journey merits your support.
