Last year, over 11,000 individuals experienced the joy of creativity thanks to AWN, which offers affordable, high-quality arts education to people of all ages and in all stages of life. At its ADA-accessible art center in Hyattsville, Maryland, AWN infuses its programs with social justice, placing accessibility and equity at its core. Toddler Time and preschool programs provide art classes for young creators (ages 0-5) and their caregivers; day and weekly camps, a licensed after-school program, and school partnerships engage students in STEAM learning year-round; teens and adults with disabilities develop creative talents through individual and group classes; and a new Creative Aging initiative helps older residents grow artistically while it supports their mental and physical health. That’s in addition to quarterly classes in pottery, drawing, painting, and sculpture for all ages. Your investment helps even more people experience the transformative power of art.

About the Catalogue for Philanthropy

Each year 120 expert reviewers evaluate applicants for distinction, merit, and impact. Each featured charity has been successfully site visited and its financials given the thumbs up. The Catalogue for Philanthropy charges no fees and raises funds separately to support its work. Since 2003, it has raised over $40 million for charities across the Greater Washington region.

The Catalogue for Philanthropy looks to friends like you to keep our services independent and entirely free of charge. Consider a small contribution to the Catalogue to cap off your gift and help the causes you care about get the full support they deserve!
