Imagine a place that celebrates the visual, invites novices, challenges artists, and educates adults and youth in an environment focused on excellence and creativity. VisArts offers free year-round exhibitions that feature established and emerging artists in four contemporary galleries and a panoramic street-level space on Rockville Pike. The studio artist program provides opportunities to experiment, create new work, evolve an existing body of work, or develop a project in a stimulating, supportive environment. Artists engage the public through exhibitions, open studios, and artist talks. At VisAbility Art Lab, a studio for those who identify as neurodivergent, emerging artists learn how to apply and prepare their work for exhibition and sale. VisArts provides more than $80,000 each year in class discounts, camp scholarships, artist stipends, and free or highly discounted studio space and art programs – so everyone can experience the transformative power of the visual arts.
