NAMI NoVA provides no-cost peer support to individuals and families navigating a crisis, diagnosis, or ongoing mental health challenges. It offers 20 support groups throughout Northern Virginia and online – peer-led, confidential spaces for participants to seek support and information. Its signature education courses, including Peer-to-Peer and Family-to-Family, cover mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping skills, all led by trained volunteers with lived experience. Community education efforts highlight warning signs of mental health conditions, address stigma, and encourage attendees to reach out for help. Advocacy is key to raising awareness, engaging youth, and building local and state-level support. Dedicated to health equity and inclusiveness, NAMI NoVA helps move the needle toward Mental Health For All – encouraging families, individuals, and youth to lend their voices to ending stigma and improving the lives of all those affected by mental illness.
