GOODProjects in Southwest DC is leading a bold experiment to break the cycle of poverty. In the District’s largest public housing community, GOODProjects established the GOODZone as the hub of a place-based, community-driven model that helps families achieve lasting self-sufficiency. At its core is Family Success Planning, equipping families with the tools and support to set and reach goals. When the pandemic struck, GOODProjects launched the GOODLearningHub to provide safe, high-intensity tutoring, continued the Feeding Program delivering 500+ bags of fresh produce weekly, and expanded youth enrichment through GOODCamp.
GOODProjects’ long-term mission: lift 500 families out of poverty and build a model for communities nationwide.
