From preschoolers to seniors, from refugee families to adults with special needs, in community centers and in housing developments, Carpe Diem Arts creates opportunities for people from all walks of life to participate in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, and a team of master teaching artists, all make it possible. The menu of programs (reaching 6,000 people annually) is impressive: early childhood arts enrichment helps the youngest artists develop new skills; children in grades 3-5 attend arts-infused language immersion camps; low-income teens express their creativity during after-school programs; ukulele lessons inspire budding musicians in senior centers, correctional facilities, and summer camps. And at community-wide dances and celebrations, people of all ages, abilities, and cultures come together, embodying what this organization is all about. Seize the day!
