Ken needs a home and help with addiction. Margaret, grieving her mother’s death, needs a home and a job. A handout isn’t enough; they need a hand up. Samaritan Ministry works with homeless, unemployed, or otherwise vulnerable neighbors to help them transform their own lives. Through the Next Step Program, participants are coached to take small, manageable steps toward their life goals. In home-like environments with telephones, computers, and high-speed internet, volunteers provide computer training, resume writing, and assistance with basic needs. Personal hygiene items, food, interview attire, email addresses, and direct assistance are also provided. Intensive, personal coaching - a process called 'rigorous compassion' transforms individuals so they lead purposeful, self-sustaining lives. Samaritan Ministry aids anyone in need, regardless of race, gender, creed, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation - all that is needed is a commitment to change. You can be part of the journey.
