  • Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: More than a third of Barker’s annual budget comes in the form of gifts.

    Your volunteerism and gift of time helps Barker provide services for adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth/first parents. You make possible no-fee pregnancy and adoption counseling for women, and help Barker provide free monthly support groups and workshops to adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents. It will contribute to helping vulnerable children with special needs who need an adoptive family.

    This year Barker's Annual Phonathon will be held the week of September 18, 2023 - September 22, 2023.

    Volunteer Roles:
    -Administrative Support: Create packages for volunteer callers. Send USPS mail prepared follow up letters with remittance envelopes.
    -Phonathon Package Delivery Drivers: Pick up and drop off volunteer packages to and from the Barker offices.
    -Phonathon Callers: Call donors and secure a 2023 gift. Follow up with a second call and an email/text.
    -Follow Up: Hand written thank you notes to donors.

  • Types of Volunteers Needed: individual/adult; individual/college; individual/high school; families with children; adult groups of less than 5; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams
  • Hours Needed: business hours during the week; evenings during the week; daytime on the weekend
