  • Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: -Produce Bag Delivery Driver: Drivers pick up produce bags at our FarmShare aggregation hub in Gaithersburg and deliver the bags to 6-8 families in a neighborhood community. Each volunteer’s route is the same each week, which offers volunteers the opportunity to have a connection with the families. This volunteer position is great for those people that like to have something on the calendar on a consistent basis. Drivers are needed from June through November.
    -Produce Bag Packer: We pack produce for our "Food is Medicine" and "Farm to School" programs. Produce is packed every Wednesday from 11 am – 5pm, in shifts of 2 hours (but if you can’t stay the whole time, we’re glad to have you for an hour too!). Volunteer packers will help assemble fruits and vegetables into approximately 500 individual bags that will be delivered to families across the county. We pack each week from June through November.
    -Mobile Market Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help our CFS staff set up and close down the market, restock the tables, hand out info/resources and generally be a welcoming, supportive, engaging team member to provide a positive experience in the community. Working at the mobile market offers a unique experience for volunteers to be able to interact and connect with the participants of our programs. Our markets run from June through November.
