- Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: The homes and shelter facilities we build and renovate are Beautiful, Welcoming, and Comforting but – they are missing some of the most basic items that a person needs to recover from homelessness and get back on their feet!
Create Welcome Baskets for homeless families that need basic but essential items for their new home, including towels, linens, pots, etc.
Fill the Fridge for homeless families moving into a new home. Provide FOOD and Hope for homeless families in Northern Virginia!
Join a HomeAid Event Committee!
Join one of the committees dedicated to ensuring the success of our two largest annual events, our Gala & Auction and Builders and Friends BBQ!
Join our team for the Point-in-Time Count!
Each January every jurisdiction needs volunteers to help “count” people experiencing homelessness. The count helps the many organizations that serve the homeless to assess the need for services. Training is provided. You will be part of a group that will go into the woods, seek out people living in cars, and other places where the homeless go to ascertain their circumstance (are they a veteran? Do they work? Do they need medical attention in any way?), record the information and deliver it back to the organizers. - Types of Volunteers Needed: individual/adult; adult groups of less than 5; families with children; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams
- Hours Needed: business hours during the week; daytime on the weekend
